Coorong Wetland Ecosystem in South Australia


The Coorong and Murray Lakes region in South Australia is a vast, unspoilt ecosystem comprised of freshwater lakes, wetlands, ocean beach and saltwater lagoons. It is home to many native animals and over 200 species of birds. Many areas are accessible for ecotourism, camping and water-sports.

'Friends of the Coorong' is a community based group of volunteers dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the natural and cultural heritage in the Coorong National Park and adjacent reserves. They regularly do walks of local areas and post information about these on their website.
